Summer Job Recommendation in Vancouver

Post  JYip09 on Sun May 17, 2009 9:43 pm

Hi,
I am interested in volunteering or getting a summer job this summer, and I am just wondering if yo guys have anything to recommend that is related to health science. Hospitals and Senior centres are good places to start but does anyone know which ones have spaces available? And besides hospitals and senior centres, what other places are good and perhaps could earn some money.

Your help is very much appreciated.

I know care aides and recreational therapists are positions that some students get while still going to school, but I do think there are some requirements behind them (though I can't remember what exactly).

Having said that, fraser health posts jobs here: http://careers.fraserhealth.ca/ and go volunteer is an amazing compendium of volunteer opportunities: http://www.govolunteer.ca/

Be aware of the networks you have. This is one job posting that was forwarded to me. Qualifications might be a little over what you currently have, but your volunteerism and your courses might help you establish good networks for future job postings:
